Bubbly fun for Sakky (You're a sweetheart!)

You're right in assuming that this took a long time. It did. I started this at 12 or so yesterday, and finished this morning at maybe 1. I only had to stop a few times to get dinner and to let the other family members use the computer, so that's a good.... 9 or so hours on this. I had to make the lineart from the original drawing by Naoko (Because I won't cover up that fact, the template is by Naoko-sama from a manga drawing of Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon), then minimise it, open it up in adobe, make a single pixel width lineart from that, delegate the colors I would use (as compared to the real colors which aren't so dulled like right here), then shade the sucker.

So yes. A very long time for a very good friend. She's done a lot for me, so this is a Christmas gift^^ One day before she has to pack up and go home for the holidays, too. I guess it's a good send off.

100% Pixels.

So yes, steal and I'll send in Napalm armies. I put a lot of time and care into this edit.

Sailor Moon etc (c) Naoko Takeuchi - sensei
Sailor Astera (c) Sakky @ Sailor
Art (c) me, in a way.

Made with all my love. Sakky, you put up with a lot more than you have to.

im sorry to trouble you again..but i think 9 hours is a bit long...i only take 1-2 to make one from scratch, base and all....

I find that the more I put into a peice, the less superficial the result is than what a doll looks after a significantly less amount of time. I consider pixels to be real art, and I strive for perfection. When I work from a base, sometimes I have to break it down to just the outline of it, and work it from there up, instead of just changing a few pixels from their original position.
As for your second comment, I'm less inclined to beleive you. I see that your works are significantly lacking in base credits, especially those from Aragonite, of whom I adore her work dearly. Base credits are essencial when posting them anywhere, as it's not only a moral issue of the base artist, but also legally, because whenever you see a movie, they credit EVERYONE, including the people who hosed down the animals and of the companies whom had their products in the movie. It is -copyright-. It's the same with pixel art. You must credit everything that is not yours, even when it was significantly changed.

Please question your own ethics before questioning my own.

(If I seem offensive to you in this comment, then that is only because I feel very strongly about it. Also, it's better you hear it from me than someone who will NOT care about your feelings and whom might get you kicked off of DA alltogether.)

im sorry i was being inconsiderite, but im telling the truth,i dont really take note of what bases i take from a site,i do remember most, but i coulnt find her adress on my favorites bar,i save all my bases to on data base and i never thought i would get a website to put up my work,i know theres no excuse, but i wanted you to know the whole side of it,i do like your work,im a big sailor fan, though i do not make many dolls of them(mainly because i dont have the ruffley skirts down) i admire i guess your a bit better than me in more things than common sence and morals(though i would never do that intentionally).i will write the name of the base site by each doll in the future,or in a link in the description.ill go back to my other dolls to see if i have any of those links handy.thanx again, im happy that i can make what did wrong right again before i got my self to deep in the mud....Talice

One thing you can do is do a google image search. It worked when I couldn't find that ONE link that I couldn't find. You just need to make sure it was the original image name, or it won't work. Either than that, just search as much as you can, and see if you can recognize the site that you were on.

What I do is that I keep a folder on my computer especially for doll bases, and I create one subpage for each website and put all bases from there into the folder, and name the folder whatever the site or author is called. Finally put a bookmark of the same name in my favorites and create a folder there specifically for doll base sites. It may suck sometimes, but I'd rather have my shit together than to feel like an idiot when I go to post the dolls and I dont' have the link. There's a doll on my own site that I haven't found the link to as well, but one out of at least 120 dolls aint bad.

But this is the issue of give credit where credit is due. I'd rather take the safe road than to be sued (which is the worst case scenario).

I think something else you need to consider is that the base you get the site from is a doll base site (which will refer to their bases as bases and you're fine), or Kisekae base site (which will refer to their bases as 'templates'), and there will be your problem right there. Some Kisekae sites know about dolls and will tell you whether or not you can use the bases for dolls or not, and some you need to ask permission (like I did for Aragonite's bases, because as it stood when I asked her, artists needed permission to use them for dolls).

So you have some work ahead of you girlie^^. And if you need help, you can always send me a note.

Your Lord of Napalm,
